hi, i'm studying college and when i was at highschool i got straight A's but now i can't i'm just like you and i get frustrated my advice is not to get frusstrated, and just try your best, find a way to study effectively and in a way you learn, for example, if you're a visual person use lots of images to help you study and learn better and in order to make you remember the things.
hope i have helped.
And don't think abot getting better grades just get them!!

It really isn't about studying MORE, but studying BETTER.

If you got, let's say, a C in a course, that means you DID KNOW around 75% of the course content. That's 3/4!

So, you need to have an idea of what that last 1/4 was about.

Did you have trouble remembering details? Focus on flashcard drill for memorization, and when you have a chance, use the new details you are learning in your writing (either for school or personal stuff). Create chapter outlines from your textbooks for overall ideas, and Venn Diagram or otherwise create groups of details that fit with those ideas.

Did you get marked down for not getting everything turned in? Start off more organized. Have a calendar and mark down due dates as soon as you know of them... even for routine work. Break larger projects into smaller chunks and set yourself due dates for each chunk. No matter what, short of a fire or flood, focus on your planned school work each day first before doing ANYTHING else. Plan a reward for yourself at the end of the semester if you get everything done, and be serious about only giving yourself that reward if you make your goal.

Did you lose points due to problems with your quality of writing? Ask a teacher you trust about tutoring options... who may be able to help you, etc. The best tutor is someone who will look at some of your work, and be able to identify the PATTERN to your errors (Do you always drop capital letters and punctuation? Are there certain words you always spell wrong? Do you select the best words possible to convey your message? etc.). Once that pattern is identified, it is a matter of practice, practice, practice, with the tutor watching for and re-directing you when you make mistakes (really, a writing coach).

If you had a rough time with emotional issues (difficult family stuff, "just not feeling motivated," etc.) you may want to ask the school counselor about who to see for counseling for emotional issues.

Or was something else interfering this year?

Last year is done. It is time to focus on what the outcome will be for this year...

Stay Strong!

work harder. take time for fun and dont wait til the last minute to study. Look at the objectives at the end of the chapter and ask yourself questions while you are studying. The main thing is that you are wanting to do better and try not to concentrate as much on the grade. Rather, concentrate on learning.

Well, Taylor, I think getting b's is super fantastic. If you do want to improve, however, you could do some of the following things:

1. practice whatever you learn in school that day.
(i.e. practice math questions, remembering new words you
learned).
2. read more books.
3. ask your teacher for extra work.
4. make flashcards.
(with math flashcards you could practice your multiplication
tables and with English or French ones you could practice
defining words or spelling them).
5. take trips with Mum or Dad to museums and other fun places
like science centres and galleries.
AND DON'T FORGET TO...

SAVE SOME TIME FOR HAVING PLAIN OLD FUN

Work, study harder.
Don't get frustrated.
Really listen in class.
Ask friends for help.
Take easier classes.
Take notes in class.

Don't think of it like trying to get better grades. Think how you can do your best on each test, not what grade you will get. Try your best and good grades will naturally follow.

Good luck!

To get better grades you have to emulate or copy someone. Is there any really smart person in your class that you want to be like? I'm not saying stalk him or her. Just try to find out his/her study methods and how he/she acts in class. I dont know, it worked for me. I went from A's and B's to all A's.
You should also try studying notes ever day from all your classes.
