I have always thought she was a terrific stylist and singer and appreciated the trials she had to overcome in her life. I have also appreciated that in spite of her African American father not being a part of her life in the early years, she still managed to maintain love and affection for him (so many kids hate their parents when one has not been in their lives, but she didn't allow hate to rule her) In the end, her dad passed away, but not before she had a period of time to enjoy his company and to learn some things should would never have known without talking to him. (he followed her life and career since she was a baby.... and maintained numerous mementos throughout. She is saved and God has blessed her. I don't think she has been given a great selection of movie scripts to consider however, it only takes one good one to propell her into the 'movie star' status. Finally, of all the songs she has recorded - I have one that I think tops everything she has ever sang: "Fly Like A Bird". It has the flavor of gospel (she uses a wonderful chorus of gospel-embued singers with soul for her background as well as her own voice) and she sings like a bird - the message and music are very well put together and she sings like she has eaten that song for breakfast, lunch and dinner (that means, she has totally submerged herself in the song and it has become her)

I'm a H.U.G.E. Mariah Carey fan. I bought all three not only the Emancipation Of Mimi but I bought the one with the poster in it. I also have the platinum edition. I collect all of her stuff and even mazazines that she on the cover of. Those who say shes a hoe or anything else negative about her is a hater. We all know tht shes da bomb!!

She's okay. I liked the old Mariah Carey. The more conservative and real one. She seems too weirded out now. Seems like most celebrities get weird after they've made their mark in the entertainment world.

I like the old Mariah. Back when she first came out. NOw since she had her meltdown a few years ago she is totally f****ed!!!

Yes-- I have always loved her voice and I remember when she first became a huge solo artist. She won the award for Best Singer that same year.

I use to like her and her music until she got so focused on herself. She's hot and she knows it.
Norah Jones is great! Mariah could learn from her.

She is OK. been listening to her since the beginning...going to her concert this month. Heard she's been working on the voice to hit the high notes. Let u know after the concert how good she was.

ok, I used to really love her singing voice but then a couple of years ago she was supposed to come to hawaii for a concert, and after all the hype and the tickets were already sold, for some reason she changed her mind~~and told a reporter on cnn that she thought everybody in hawaii were smoking weed and on welfare~~~~~

I did when she first came out like in 1990 or 1991. I'm not a fan anymore.
