It is far better to drink water that is room temperature because drinking cold or ice water forces your body to work extra hard to bring that water to body temperature.

It depends on the climate. If it's summer, and very humid, and hot, of course, it is better to drink cold water to freshen you up. Juice and soda is at least 90% water, and if you drink it warm, it has no appeal. Same with plain water, if you feel hot, or exausted, cool water is better. If you're in alaska, I don't suggest drinking cold water. It's a case to case basis really.

There was an article on the news the other day saying that drinking cold or ice water makes your body burn more calories because your body has to work to heat it. So it would be beneficial if you were looking to burn calories.
But hey, as long as you are drinking water, drink either.

I prefer ice water & have no problems with digesting it. Room temp water doesn't taste good to me. The colder water bumps up your metabolism a little & I like that.

I heard models continually sip ice cold water because it takes more calories to burn off cold liquids than warm. I always drink ice cold water. Can't stand warm water-yuck!!

I have seen nothing to support either claim. I drink ice water by the gallon EVERY DAY, and there's nothing wrong with me. Tastes better, too----which makes you more likely to drink more.

It makes no difference unless you are hyperthermic or hypothermic.
Whatever is more satisfying will help you drink more and avoid dehydration.
