you WILL need an msn account, BUT instead of downloading and installing msn messenger....
.....you can just use the java version at:
http://webmessenger.msn.com
hardly anyone knows that sites exists, but it sure is handy as it could be used from your school, or work too :)
as an alternative, you could download trillian which is one program that can log you into aim, icq, msn, yahoo AND irc all at the same time. oh, and it's free lol

if you have the updated messenger you can just add the person to your buddies list and there is a drop down menu that asks whether they are yahoo or msn.

awesome question..... first, make him use yahoo messenger. its loose to acquire and use. it will be set to keep in recommendations all messages, typed as well as any voice mail. AND it will be set to in straightforward words enable acquaintances to the contact him. i could, besides the undeniable fact that..... let him recognize this prior to time. reason that's no longer honest to "wiretap" him, without him understanding.....How could it make u sense? with that stated....msn sux. the messages will be kept in it too, besides the undeniable fact that that's unneccesaraly complicated. I actually have an 11 3 hundred and sixty 5 days previous boy, and at the same time as he hasn't reached the "interested in ladies" level yet, that's on the horizan...... reliable success!

you can do it on YIM. You both have to have the newest versions of your respective messengers, but it's not too bad. It works pretty well.

You have to have Y! Messenger Beta, and they have to have Windows Live Messenger Beta. If you both have those, then you add them to your buddy list, and they'll add you to theirs.
