Does god expect one to arrive at faith through reason or is that idea contradictory to the concept of faith? If god requires you to look beyond reason, than is reason not the devil's most useful tool? And why does god give the human free will; that is, the ability to freely reason so as to come upon a decision and then ask them to abandon reason?

Giraffe "First, God made each of us according to HIS WILL." Well the belief that we were given a free will and the right to exercise it unhindered by god is a central doctrine of christianity, am I wrong? You did not address reconciling this doctrine with the requirements of faith.

Faith has no reasoning. Faith goes where the eyes don't see. You rely on faith from what is in your heart.

First, God made each of us according to HIS WILL.

Each of us fit into God's plan to finish the piture in the puzzle (metaphorically speaking). This will make you view faith, reason, free will differently. In God's plan we may not be able to see the finished piece of his puzzle, but indeed, God is great and his plan for us is more beautiful than we can imagine.

Question is, are you a center piece, or are you the trimming of the puzzle?

Faith is supposed to be blind, not questioned so therefore our freewill is supposed to be used in one way only therefore it is not free will. Reason is not evil but the products of reason are evil, such as science and the ability to disprove the age of the earth... religion however also works on reason and logic... only theirs is made up, kind of like playing a game where the person who made it up keeps changing the rules to suit themselves... Therefore religion is like calvinball it makes sense to those who are invovled but to everyone else it seems disorganized and pointless... Also calvin and hobbes is an awesome comic
