Dude... I am from Southern Cali... it is a requirement to use "dude". I have even used it in a presentation to the board of directors at my company... at first I was embarrassed but then the Controller also said it... so I was like cool I am not the only.

i did say dude for a long time and one day a female friend of mine asked me very politely but firmly to not "call her dude"
then i stopped

YES! It is a horrible habit I picked up. Which by itself isn't that bad (just annoying to me and others) but it is coupled with my other bad habit...which is saying TOTALLY all the time. "Dude, totally" who am I becoming...Bill or Ted??
