There are several steps to take back our government:
1- Voter participation: make it easier for a person to vote, not harder. In Oregon it totally vote by mail and it was like an 80% turnout for the last election. Also with that you'll have a verifiable paper trail in case of a recount.
2- Publicly financed elections: for 5 dollars year extra on taxes it would fund all elections so the candidates wouldn't have to be raising money all the time. That would keep the big business money out of it.
3- Make the media give time to the candidates. That means restoring the Fairness Doctrine.
4-Take the lobbyist revolving door out of Capitol Hill: There are currently 63 lobbyists for every Congressperson! Publicly financed elections would take care of a lot of this problem as the lawmakers wouldn't be beholden to them for contributions. Also make a law saying that during the time they are in office, the lawmakers family members can not be lobbyists. And the lawmakers, their staff and family can't become lobbyist for five years after they leave office.
These would take time but it is doable . First we need to elicit lawmakers that will work towards it. So we must get out and get active and vote. As my favorite radio talk show host says " Democracy begins with you, TAG YOU'RE IT!"

Remove government power.
If the federal government didn't have the ability to build a bridge, for example, there would be no construction company exchanging the favor for a campaign contribution. The area residents, who know the best, could decide whether a bridge would be useful enough to justify the taxes or tolls that they would need to pay.
The government is in the hospital business, the charity business, the retirement planning business, the loan business, the construction business, the land use business, the transportation business, the agriculture business, just to name a few. Each of these business provides an opportunity for some government official to take a bribe, er...sorry..., campaign contribution for influence.
Remove the government of all power but the bare minimum, and the corruption will disappear.

The SURE FIRE, 100% GARAUNTEED, ABSOLUTE BEST way to reform the government is to remove as much of it as possible. Governent has NEVER solved anything. All the current issues of this country stem from the government being TOO BIG.
For example, take a look at the War on Drugs, all it has ever accomplished was causing the number of teen drug users to QUADRUPLE and the amount of Drug related crime to rise TENFOLD. And healthcare, the costs have risen and the quality has plummeted ever since the government decided to cripple the healthcare field by monopolizing it with HMOs and its lookalikes. The same applies to schools, of which since the government has a monpoly run by teachers unions, we now 1st in spending for education and 15TH in education quailty.
Government is the problem, not the answer.

Your idea is commendable but do you know that the voter turn out is low now. The only way to really send you politicians your message is with your vote. It also helps to communicate with them about your concerns and questions. When they know you are watching and thinking they will show you more respect. Just remember that you live in a democracy and that means sometimes you will not get your way unless a majority agrees with you and you have to accept this.

Vote - write - talk to friends - vote out everyone who is in power now. Vote for candidates who have the least money. Tell the people you elect that you want strict limits on campaign spending. The cost of getting national office is the single problem preventing a real representative government.

I must admit that you have a wonderful idea here. I'm afraid though, that it may well be too late for such reforms. There is so much corruption in the government. I'm even very skeptical about major U.S. elections being legitimate. The whole thing is way too out of hand.

You will need a new government. Then the former government of Bush and his cronies need to be put on war crimes. You will need to get the participation of the minorities and the poor. The young people, the Hispanics, the African-Americans and the women need to have a say. The U.S. needs to focus a lot on themselves and not interfering with other countries and to stop supporting Israel.

first of all, the federal government has unquestionably no employer meddling in coaching. coaching is a state run business enterprise. Secondly, the superb thank you to reform coaching is to get the government out of it. There ought to be a separation between coaching and the state. All coaching ought to be privately run. If the government needs to grant tips to the damaging to get coaching, they might desire to do it as component of the welfare gadget.
