From what I hear, they seem to be the crux of Muslim fundamentalism, and extremism. I think Iran is the source of more terrorists than any other country. They want nuclear weapons so they can destroy Jerusalem.

I know this. Iran has a volatile political history. Iran could very well fit the definition of a theocracy. Its leaders are leftover from the generation that believed in religious revolution changing the country. Its younger citizens are surprisingly pro American and have taken a liking to U.S. pop culture. Its current leader is hell bent on testing the waters when it comes to U.S.-Iranian relations. It has been documented that George W. Bush's "Axis of Evil" speech that included Iran was a deep insult to leadership. A dividing point. Let's just say this. Don't expect formal relations between the U.S. and Iran during the reign of the Bush administration. There have not been formal relations for over 20 years thanks to Ayatollah Khomenhi's overthrow of the Shah. Iran has also been linked to financial and military support of Hezbollah. The majority of Iranian citizens are Shiite. Also, Iran is reportedly capable of manufacturing nuclear weapons. I took this off the top of my head. This is just what i remember from studies in the lecture hall or from foreign relations journals that I currently read. If I am wrong on any of this information please correct me.

Ancient Iran ( Persia ) gave us laws and culture. Modern Iran has neither. Mohammad just abut destroyed all of the culture and civilization in the Middle East. From his time onward in that area, nothing really good happened. The Arabs say in Morocco and Southern Spain were more civilized and less religious. They gave us the Zero in mathematics as well as other things. Right now a small group of religious fanatics, hold a country by fear.

The Iranians are mostly Persians, not Arabs as some believe. They are like most people, generally good folks. But, they currently are led by radical Islamic Mullahs and a complete nutcase of a President. He's bent on the destruction of the non-believers and especially the Jews.
A quote from Ahmadinejad:
After his election he proclaimed, "Thanks to the blood of the martyrs, a new Islamic revolution has arisen and the Islamic revolution of 1384 [the current Iranian year] will, if God wills, cut off the roots of injustice in the world." He said, "The wave of the Islamic revolution will soon reach the entire world."

Very dry. The general population is very friendly, for the most part. Most of the population is uneducated. Wonderful old architecture. Minarets in Shiraz, Kerman, and other places that have been there for centuries. Was one of the best experiences of my life when I lived there. Of course that was before the Shah was deposed.

They are living with soveirgnty and freedom, if US and its allies will interfere with their affairs, Iran could be a serious treat to the world with unconfirmed support from N. Korea, China, Russia and other Islamic countries and fundamentalist states.
