Homicide: Life on the Street. NBC never gave that show a chance. It got moved to a different timeslot almost every year it was on. The writing was some of best TV drama ever. The acting was phenomenal. But the Emmy's and the critics were all ga ga over NYPD Blue (which is extemely overrated) so Homicide never got noticed.

I still love the 1960s version of _The Fugitive_ with David Janssen. A great character-driven show that has spawned many copy-cats over the years, none as good as the original.

Angel. Joss Wedon is one of the best writers for television. I also love all the pop culture references and its dark and broody atmosphere.
