I am sure that everything has been used again and again but I imagine that if someone found a antique mirror in a old dressing table in a abandoned house was gets cut on a shard of glass as the mirror suddenly shatters at the touch of a hand and that in turn transports several members to alternate realities where magic is prevalent over science and they would have to somehow find a way back to their own reality not knowing that all the while some entity has also escaped to their reality and is taking over the form of one of them

Something with a message relating to the effects of children who are born with "Fetal Alcohol Syndrome". This has been so stereo-typed but not all children born from this unwanted state resort to alchohol and drugs, some struggle to make a better life for themselves if only some would give them more opportunities.

ya id go with something that has never been done!
a soap without a whole wack of car crashes.
the girl knowing who the daddy is, and having it be the right person.
if there is a one night stand or cheating, no baby comes of it. (cause it is most likly it wont)
no babys are switched at birth.
no babys die at birth, and years later discover they're still alive.
the people stay dead when they die.

but of course that just wouldnt be a soap opera would it!?!

I would stick to situations that could Really happen. Throw out the idea of "missing" and returning twins that no one ever knew about. I believe my storyline would look a lot like Seinfeld but with more kissing. Humm... I wonder if they ever thought of that?.

Who would want to write a storyline for a soap. Soaps suck. How about, "I know who my baby's daddy is!" and "I died, and never came back to life!"

Maybe they could do actual real life things like go to work every day, eat breakfast, lunch & dinner. Do their own hair. Not wear evening gowns on every second episode. Have a house that looks lived in...
