The most common used opening move for white is Pawn to e4.
This move attempts to control the center of the board and opens diagonal lanes for Bishop and Queen.
This move is used by many Grand Masters throughout history, so is time tested and solid.

pawn to king four, knight to bishop three, pawn to queen three, bishop out so you can castle early... good luck!
