say you are haveing trouble in french or spanish and u dont know how to write one of the words can u use a translator every once and a while

translators are moderately accurate for one word, however, you still have to be careful.
I had a student translate spring as 'ressort' and fall as 'chute' when doing a project about seasons. (ressort is like a metal spring and chute is a waterfall or chute like chutes and ladders). After you get a word, it is helpful to google that word and see what phrases it comes up in.
I find regular dictionaries better for just one word, as they tend to give usage clues, and you can always look it up on the other side to see if the other meanings are in the range of meaning you want.
