Yes, it has made George Bush, Halburton, Dick Cheney, and the oil company's richer. Oh you said positive, well it is positive for them. Nobody else, just them.

I would have to say no. In the absence of any clearly defined goals by the current administration it's hard to say if they have found success in Iraq isn't it? I can say that the expectations of Americans most certainly have not been met.
We were told over and over again that once the cheap oil started flowing the war would not only pay for itself but that we could expect cheaper gas prices at the pump. Sigh, well that didn't happen did it?
We were told that we would all be safer from terrorism right? I would argue that the world is less safe for Americans and our allies and that we are now more hated than ever. We have somehow managed to take all the good will that existed in the world right after 9/11 and turn it into this. Iraq has become a recruiting poster and training ground for al qaida. There was no al qaida in Iraq before we invaded but they are there now. Nice job guys, we are rapidly creating a fundamentalist, terrorist state. How incredibly un-American, how un-patriotic.
We were promised Weapons of Mass Destruction. Rumsfeld went on national television and told us he knew exactly where they were and that we were going to get them. It becomes more and more apparent with each passing month that no one in this administration believed there were Weapons of Mass Destruction or Al Quaida in Iraq.
I find it atrocious to tell the brave service men and women of this country that you support them and also move to cut their combat pay, try and cut benefits for soldiers and funding for the VA and send them into combat without proper protection and without a realistic exit strategy.
I suppose we could argue that the Kurds are now free. Was that really our battle to fight? Was that really a burden for the American taxpayer to shoulder to the tune of a trillion dollars? Man, the things we could have done with that money here at home.

That seems to have ended with the lack of ability of life of Hussein and his regime. What else? it spent 300 billion dollars that we didn't have
it spent 2600 soldiers that didn't need to die
it cost the lives of at least 45,000 civilians
it gave the white house and congress something to distract our attention from the fact that they don't serve us
it has made the news scramble for news that didn't pertain to the fact that we aren't being served by our government
it has caused many foreign nations to distrust us
it drove the price of fuel up and therefore inflating our economy and lowering the standard of living unnecessarily
it has taken our attention from the fact that we are not really fighting the war on terror
i'm gong to stop now not because i have run out of excuses but because i'm tired of this question and want to move on oh thats right thats how they keep ******* us because they know we won't pay attention for long and will move on when we get discourage don't ask any more questions like this with domestic spying i'll be getting taken to a secret foreign prison and lost forever in the endless sea of paper work

I agree with you. Nothing good has come out of the invasion of Iraq expect violence, violence, and um more violence! And the the terrorist do love it! Like you said, it's a great recruiting tool for the extremist. But the sad thing about it is, all of it could've been prevented. Bush, and the people who started this war, will get their day in hell. For abusing their power and prematurely promoting the death of innocent people.

Whos responsible to the Iraqi's being able to vote?
Whos to thank for the women in Afghanistan to vote?
Furthermore, the looney left seems to think history began the day we invaded Iraq. Pick up a history book bud. Learn before you sound like an idiot
I love this "anserman" clinging to the oil and Halliburton thing. That guy's a nut case. He's what hte Democratic party is becoming....a minority.....
Not to mention his idol, Michael Moore, made profits off Halliburton in his portfolio.

It has given a large number of our troops a combat tour. Which is an important ticket to have punched if you are hoping to be a general (just in case someone misses it - I am being sarcastic) The Iraq war although it is being fought bravely by our troops was an unprovoked war of aggression. We hung people after WWII for that very offense.

Nothing. I can't believe the people who STILL say that we went there to prevent terrorist attacks. Al qaeda was NOT present in Iraq prior to the US invasion in any number (probably more Al qaeda were in Germany than were in Iraq). There were NO WMD - or are there still idiots who believe that one? Sure Saddam was a bad man. There are also bad men running Sudan, Iran, Libya, China, North Korea, and many other countries. Are we going to invade them all?

It has saved the value of the American dollar, preventing us from a crushing depression. However it is the government that got us into this 400 trillion dollar debt in the first place.
