i was thinking of getting FFXI for my 360 but i just found out you have to download stuff to your xbox and pay an additional fee for Play-Online.

Now i turn to my PS2. the price for the game is $100(please correct me if i'm wrong)? Why is the game $100 when you can't play online? What can this game do?

Thanks for all your help!!

Ok, you can play online on PS2- you just need to get the harddrive for it, which you can buy at any gaming store-- there's another ? on here that asked where.

It's the same game on PS2, but it's likely less expensive because it has been out on this system for a lot longer. You will pay per month, just like most other online gaming services.

I will pass on the info that friends have told me, who did buy this for the 360 though... there are a lot better games to play than FFXI right now if you are looking for a good game to play. I'm a big FF person, and started playing FFXI when it first came out, but quit. They bought it for the 360, and didn't care for it. It's still the same game as it once was... regardless of what system.

If you are really considering this and want the best bang for your buck, I would recommend getting it for PC- the requirements aren't the highest, so you don't even need the greatest one if you are worried about that. I found the game with the Promathia expansion on sale at Best Buy for 20$ a couple of months ago... and a month of playtime, and a buddy pass (basically the whole game free) for a month was also included. That way, if you don't like it, you didn't pay that much for it either.

There ya go, now give me my points lol jk =) Hope that helps

Well I'm not real sure but if the game really is $100 (which I highly doubt it is) then you must be looking at some really cool value pack which might have the game plus the two expansion packs or something. From what I know though you can go to any EB Games or Gamestop and get Final Fantasy XI, The Vana'diel Collection, for $29.99. That is for the game as well as the first expansion (better known as Chains of Promathia).
