I am a conservative in some ways but like the idea of being moderate. As for war only an idiot would want war. But after the powers to be, can't get it done peacefully ,or we are attacked, then we need to fight and make sure we win. We have been at war since the twin towers were destroyed, but most people have not awoken to that fact. So far mankind has really not grown up much. Is it time for another extinction??? Man has really not been around very long.

While war is part of our human history, i don't see it as necessary. the current "war" raging in the Middle East is not necessary. I don't know why people are so worried about the rest of the world seeing as "cowards" because we (should) choose to pull our young men and women out of a a chaotic situation, that we obviously can not (and our current administration will not) fix or make any better. I think "the rest of the world" would love to see us admit that our president was wrong in making the premature decision to go to war to begin with. I do NOT believe that my freedom is going to be taken from me by someone in some another country. I do know, I fight every day to maintain my "freedom" that a corrupt government is trying to take from me and then tell me it's a "national security issue". If there is an end to the human race, it will be war that brought it.

I am a Army Infantry veteran of two combat tours.

I am incredibly "anti-war". I NEVER want to see people dying. Never, ever, ever.

However.

There are times when wars MUST be fought. I am a FIRM believer that when good men do nothing, evil spreads.

I do believe we're in one of those times. It's my opinion. The more we allow Photoshopped pictures and staged news events where the same children are drug in front of the camera for someone's sick political agenda the more the "common" man will turn a blind eye to the real atrocities happening in the world.

So, not FOR war, but I UNDERSTAND war.

Conservatives hate war, but the price of not fighting for freedom is worse than the war itself.

I consider myself a conservative, for the most part, but I do disagree with the war...so, yes.

Yes there some of us such as myself who are Pacifists, who do not beleive in war at ANY cost, even self defence...(theres much to say about diplomacy)
However due to the extreme negligence of human kind coupled with our violent competitive nature, wars will never EVER cease.
