Looking at the kitchen window from the floor. I remember the yellow walls and the oven and the linoleum floor. I can still distinctly remember the way the light came into the room all golden-y, the paned, open window, and the tree outside. My mom had music playing..I was able to much later identify it as "Summer Breeze" by Seals & Crofts. When I told my mother the memory, she was amazed since I was not yet 2 when we moved out of that house..but apparently I described it perfectly.
I am female.
I also have other memories from that time period of about the age of 2, but this one was my first clear memory.

I am female and my first clear memory came at almost 3 1/2 - Summer 1972 - when I had my tonsils out. I remember being in the hospital, being wheeled down to the operating room, having the big black anesthesia mask being put over my face. I remember pulling a tantrum because they had the gall to put me in a crib in the hospital.
However, the best part of the memory is that my dad bought me a doll that was taller than I was and if I held her hand she'd walk with me. My father would walk down the hallway holding my hand and the doll would walk on the other side of me holding my other hand.

6 months old, being bathed in a sink in Hawaii where i am from. I am a prodigy for recall and it was frustrating to not be able to speak the languages so young as I was still forming. Well You asked. i am also the kid who read 2200 word per min at the age of 11 and nearly 2400 words per min by 12...i was considered a freak though i knew better it never helped me socially so in sank myself into music. Please not that I was choked as a young mother and my recall though still quite good is not any longer photographic, though bits and pieces still come to the fore. i was taken out of my 3 classes in school and given the library...now I wish they had sent me to college back then.....i wa quite shy so I would pick up a mystery novel in the middle to figure out what they wanted to have us know, the beginning and then by the end to have it. I read 8 books per day. I am sure that this answers your question, formative, 6 months old...seems impossible but it wasn't. To be helpless and aware until at last i could walk and communicate then i have been all so happy since...i now am a writer and yes published among other things.Oh, BTW I now if relaxed can read about 2 and a half books in an afternoon and many I have read over 50 times. This is the TRUTH!!!!!!
Thanks ~OH! I am BTW a femme.

My first clear memory is that of getting my hair washed in the kitchen sink (it was a huge white old fashioned porcelain one).
My dad was leaving for a moose hunting trip. I remember running down the hall to say goodbye to dad before he left.
When I became an adult, I asked my mother if this could have been true or a dream I had, and she said it probably is entirely true, as she used to wash our hair in the kitchen sink, and dad only ever went on one moose hunting trip - in 1961 - when I was 2.
Funnily enough - I also remember very clearly the day President Kennedy was shot. I was playing in the front yard and mom came out on the porch crying. I was 4.
We're Canadian.

I'm female. My first vivid memory was when I was 1 1/2.
There was an old sidewalk in front of our house. Many trees and a stone lion on each side of the front porch.
I walked down the steep(to ME they were) steps and on to the sidewalk.
I remember trying to walk along the sidewalk without tripping over one of the many cracks.
I did it! Without falling down.
Many years later I asked my mother where I was, when I had that memory.
She almost went into shock. She was amazed that I would remember something at SUCH a young age.
She told me, that was where we lived. That is all I remember of it.
That and the street was very shady from the large trees.

Being in the incubator shortly after I was born. It's a very short memory, but I remember the feeling and the smell and what I saw. My next memory is me sitting in a car seat and being hit pretty hard. I was fine, but my parents were freaking out. Apparently our horse trailer was hit by someone and flipped off of the road. I just remember being locked in my car seat trying to see what everyone was doing. My mom says I probably wasn't a year old when that happened.
I'm a dude.

I remember things that I am told is impossible for me to remember. I remember crawling out of my babybed at just over 1 year old. I also remember moving the chair to the door so I could stand on it and try to unlock the chain so I could go outside. I was also 1 at the time. I remember riding the tricycle I got for my first birthday, and as I got older to 2 and 3, I have many memories. I remember the movers who moved us when I was 2.

I was 2 1/2, I was jumping up and down in the back seat of the car asking 'is that it'? about every house. We were moving to a new house and I wanted to see it.
Of course I really don't have any other memories until I about 8 and I remember my brother getting hurt.
Wonder what happened in those missing years?

I was 1 year and 3 months old and I'm female.I went to the emergency room with 105* temp. They placed me in a tub of ice and I sat there and screamed and I could only see the legs of the nurses and doctors.Back then they wore all white the nurses legs were white as were their shoes.I didn't think they were real because none of them paid attention to my screams.I couldn't hear anything because the fever had affected my hearing all I could hear was a rushing wind.Very bad memory which I will never forget.I know this to be true because my mom never knew about it because she had to leave me there and go back home to be with my sisters and brothers.
