I bought a contraption a while back to connect my VCR to my computer. I bought it at Bestbuys. It should have 3 plugs to plug the jacks from the VCR into and it wil plug into a port or a USB on your computer, determined by the brand of device you buy. Any knowledgeable employee in the video or computer dept of an electronics store should be able to point you in the right direction and it will come with software needed. The main problem is that the recording has to be done in real time which can be a pain. I hope this helps.

NO The VGA port on a computer is an output to an outdoors show show screen, no longer in enter to the laptop's show show screen. whilst connecting products, there is likewise so plenty greater helpful than plugging in adapter cables. you may evaluate the sign that the cables carry. RCA plugs are used to hold limitless diverse alerts. in terms of a VCR or DVD participant, they are many times coloration coded. Yellow - NTSC composite video purple - perfect audio channel White - Left audio channel. purple+Blue+green - separated video, many times in subject-unfastened words for DVDs or extreme definition kit. None of those video channels have compatibility with VGA. VGA desires many alerts which incorporate the separated video AND sync alerts. Converters have been made that could convert the forms of alerts yet they value greater helpful than they are nicely worth. a greater efficient answer could desire to be to the two get a low-value television with the composite video and sound inputs or to seek for for a computer laptop show show screen that could take them. the laptop show show screen has the convenience that it extremely is plenty greater desirable determination than optimum laptop video show gadgets. My previous show show screen (20") had inputs for audio, composite video and S video as nicely to VGA. My present day show show screen (23" with digital television tuner) has inputs for television antenna (digital in subject-unfastened words), audio, separated video, DVI video, and HDMI video. all of it's video components are for perfect definition components quite of usual definition components like previous VCRs. likely utilising fact it extremely is determination is 2000x1200 pixels. HDTV is 1920x1080 pixels. usual definition is 640x480 pixels.
