Technically, terrorism is a tactic, but it is a tacic which, in recent times, has mainly been used to promote the evil of islamic theocracy.

Theocracy breeds such terrorism. Hezbollah gets it's support from the theocracy of Iran, and many of the insurgents in Iraq are from the theocracy of Saudi Arabia. In fact, All but 2 of the approximately 20 9/11 hijackers were from Saudi Arabia. Al-Quaida itself was based in the former theocracy of the talibn, before the United States destroyed said regime. Another theocratic country with strong ties to terrorism is the UAE. If we invade and destroy those 3 theocracies, then theocratic terrorism will loose much of it's base of power.

So, why is it that the United States destroyed the taliban, but does not dare invade Iran, Saudi Arabia, or the UAE, nor even dare speak badly of Saudi Arabia or the UAE? Because of oil. The taliban did not export a large amount of oil to the United States. The 3 other theocracies, on the other hand, are 3 of the largest suppliers of oil to the United States. Saudi Arabia is the single largest supplier.

So, before we destroy those regimes, we must become independent of their oil. We can do that by creating wind farms, and installing solar panels on the roofs of our houses (which individuals can do; it does not require government assistance). That would eliminate the power requirement from power plants that use oil and natural gas. Also, we could build thermal depolymerization plants which convert biomass into oil, and are self-sustaining. We could also use geneticly-engineered microbes which produce alcohol from cellulase ('cellulasic alcohol').

Why though, does the U.S. government not implement those methods when they are necessary to stop terrorism? Because Bush and associates, and many members of congress, are on the payroll of the oil companies, especially Exxon-Mobile. The politicians are selling innocent lives for a profit. By the way, WE are responsible for electing those psychopaths into office in the first place.
