Currently airports are confiscating all liquid items that passengers are carrying: (ie) toothpaste, mouthwash, bottled water, shaving cream, etc. This is becoming more and more petty and showing the fascist face of our time.

No, they haven't any powers to confiscate belongings belonging to anybody, except they're intending to apply it as info hostile to you. You were the passenger in an uninsured vehicle pushed with the help of honestly one of your persons or aquaintances. the driving force ran off from the scene, one assumes you advise the scene of an twist of destiny, and look at were given for sure claimed now to not understand the driving force. I hate to call you a liar, yet i think that you recognize finished nicely who replaced into driving, and likely that you also knew that the vehicle wasn't insured. i could be very stressful if I were you, helping and abetting contained in the fee of a criminal offense is an particularly intense offence, and with the police having your belongings as info... do merely not assume being loose to stroll the streets a lot longer, no longer that i imagine you'll get more effective than some years... i desire that is cheered you up slightly.

Wow, I guess you weren't paying attention when they also said they had stopped a plot to kill many hundreds of innocent people using fake baby formula.

Guess what? Don't you think it would raise suspicion in these perilous times if you were getting on a plane with a baby bottle & no baby? So are they going to sacrifice their own children?

Get a clue. I don't like having to take off my shoes, stand in the explosives stall & be scanned, or spend 45 minutes getting searched, either. That is the price I pay for some relative feeling of security when I fly, and I am happy to do it. If you don't like it, don't get on a plane.

i'd rather be a little inconvenienced then dead. but then that is just me. By all means lets go back to the old way so people aren't upset over not being able to take mouthwash as a carry on item. Because it is so important to be able to rinse your mouth out before the terrorists blow your brains out. Yep with you all the way. Bring back the mouthwash, toothpaste etc etc etc. That way my dentist won't be embarrassed when he identifies me through the dental records? "At least her mouth was minty fresh."

Liquid explosives have been around for a long time. One passenger could bring "part A" disguised as aftershave. Another could bring "part B" disguised as cough syrup. They could be combined in a lavatory, and the whole side of the plane would be blown out. So I say, "Screw your toothpaste." This alert is far from "petty."

No. The poor TSA guys get paid very little for a job where they get yelled at by half of the customers.

I think that they deserve a few perks.

I'm just wondering how many of the laptops that now have to be checked as baggage will "disappear."

That's why people should learn to just bring essentials. Clothes, money, ID, and the plane ticket. That's it. Nothing more. Buy the rest when you get there!

Just be sure to frisk Grandma. Goodness knows what kind of explosives she has in her Geritol bottle.

well, it's up to you to know the rules ....and the things that you mention are such minor expenses to cover....I don't know..I think everyone overreacts at times like this....but I'd rather have them err on the side of safety.
