I just saw it and it was so sad. I was crying at the end of the movie, as were other people in the theatre.

It gave me a different insight into what happened that day.

I have not seen it and I am trying to wrap my brain around seeing this destruction and devestation, pain and loss all over again. I have heard it is so real and awesome that people return to the feelings and emotions they experienced the first time. Sometimes, I wonder if that is a good thing. I mean, it's good to remember the past in ways that will help you grow and benefit and not be bound to repeat - but to relive that tragedy - I'm not so sure I want to see it. I would love to hear more extensive comments about the details (not shock factors) of the film. I do appreciate the film, the filmakers and the artists who performed. I am sure it took a lot for them to have to put themselves in that place and I appreciate them all for it. Thanks for making mention of this important film.

Yes. I saw it last night and I'm still letting it wash over me.
First thoughts though:
I didn't see anything that I would say was inaccurate, bad, inappropriate or exploitative. Just real, as real as a movie portrayal can be.
I did find myself looking up at a passing airplane this morning without even realizing it Just as I did for months after 9/11.
And I've been walking around with that same sick feeling I had in those days. I don't think this is a bad thing either, but I can't explain that.
There are many political and "side-taking" issues connected with this event, but the movie did not go near all that. Which I think is admirable. Oliver Stone usually tends to go in that direction, I think, but Kudos to him for not, this time.
In a few words: Sad, Sobering, and Impressive.
On a more personal note. That is one of those events that I will remember until my dieing day, much like the JFK, RFK and MLK assassinations. Add Armstrong's walk on the Moon.
These things tend to put things in perspective and minimize some of the crap that I hear people whining about (myself included).
Life IS too precious and too short.
Stevie Wonder once said, "Don't waste time for joy feeling bad."
A simple, but undeniably important thought to remember.

I don't have to see it nor do I want to see it. I live in NJ within close proximity to New York. I was brought up in the city and lived there for 25 years. I go there at least monthly even now that I am 60 years old.I used to take my children into the city to make sure they could assimilate some of the culture only 30 miles from our home. One of their favorite places was the Top of the Trade Center Buildings.

We lost a lot of folks from our parish there, St Thomas RC in Old Bridge, NJ, and I personally know some folks who never made it home that day. So it is not a Movie I will be seeing. I know I would be hysterically crying in the theatre and they would probably have to carry me out. But then again, I wouldn't be alone, if I saw this movie in a theatre in the city.

Yes, I saw it yesterday. I was almost in tears several times during the film, but it was an EXTREMELY accurate representation. Believe me, I am a 9/11 historian and I know my facts, and I also know very well about the two PAPD officers Jimeno and McLaughlan and the entire movie is true. Even down to the fact that 9/11 was the opening day for the NYC primaries. I would recommend this movie to anyone over 12.
