I recallhearing that the owner of a horse is required to pay a reasonamle sum for care of said horse if it escapes and is cared for by a third party.

Has anyone else ever heard of this? If so where?

Animals taken care of by those who found them can claim the expenses from the owner if claimed. It is provided for in the Civil Laws unde the principle of finder's keepers.
