My friend and I work at the same company.My friend's mother just past away three months ago. I went over to her house to have a couple of drinks there.She had numerous jugs of water in her livingroom. I went to use the bathroom and there were turds in the toilet. She then told me her water was cut off. I want to help her in some way but my finances is downhill too.

try a 50/50 raffle at work, or have a garage sale, a silent auction would work too. Think of something that you can raise some money, and then donate it, or put the money in an envelope and stuff it in her mail box, with a sympathy card

She should have put a couple of jugs of water in the toilet tank and flushed it. You might mention that next time you are invited over for drinks.

maybe you can try to get some her friends together and to all give her some money, to start up again. then when she is back on her feet, she can pay you back? maybe she should get a better job that pays more or something. it seems like a really hard situation to be in, and honestly, i'm not really sure what i would do either...

Can you imagine, 2006 and people still cant get water. This world is screwed up. Perhaps you could take up a collection at work

Myabe you guys.... both of you can start to watch how your spend your money, budget and help each other, no more new clothes, no more eating out buying junk htat you don't eat. Conserve and then maybe things will get better. or maybe you can consider another job paying more.... monster.com
