does a piece of paper matter

Been married and divorced a couple of times. And would get married again if I believed he was Mr Right. One never knows for certainty until after the fact. Everyone goes into a marriage believing it is forever, and happily ever after. It is after you say the "I do's, that you find out it wont work.

As for the piece of paper, yes it does make a difference.
Think about it this way. God forbid you died tomorrow, if you are not legally married then she gets non of your pension, she cant get your social security, she cant get your 401 or anything like that. She also has no legal right to be the one who buries you, or to claim any of your property. You people need to use your heads when saying that a piece of paper doesn't matter. You may not think it matters now but who is going to take care of your family once your gone? Do you want the love of your life, the mother of your children ending up with nothing? Do you want some relative taking away her home, furniture, personal effects? Do you want someone else having the say so over your burial?

I have been married and divorce THREE times. I have really made some poor choices in husbands over the years. I doubt that I will ever get married again. I enjoy the fact that I am no longer tied down and am able to enjoy my time. To some people, that little piece of paper does matter. To me, no. It isn't worth a damn thing and neither is the ink on it!

Love is in the heart and soul. A piece of paper doesn't make emotions go away. If I ever got divorced, I would never marry again. Not because of the idea of being hurt, but I just don't have it in me to do again.

I have never had a divorce. i am happily married. but if i was to get a divorce i would not marry again because it is a sin. Once you are married, that is it, unless that person dies, then you can marry again. but if you divorce and get married again, you are considered an adulterer in the eyes of the Lord.
Have a blessed day!

I'm 40 and have been widowed for 10 years now. I have an Autistic child to raise alone and I have no desire to ever marry again. I've got one child to raise, I don't need two.

Most men need to be babied, not all, but most. Good men are near to impossible to find. I have a difficult enough time with my son.

I was divorced and yes,I am remarried.I was young the first time and he was a sorry excuse for a man.I have since grown up and learned what a real man is and how he treats his wife.I am happy now.The marriage certificate does mean more to me,than a peice of paper. It's our love and commitment for each other in our eyes and God's.
