I need advice about wireless service in N. York. Which company is more convenient about national service, not too expensive plans and no roaming. Thanks in advance.

Go too these two different websites to do some research first www.cellreception.com and www.deadcellzones.com both are going to help you decide which carrier is the best in Your area as far as lost calls etc. Then do a google or yahoo search for phones with plans on the Internet. There are several websites that can help you Pick a phone and plan that will work best for you

T-Mobile has been ranked #1 in service and coverage is most regions across the country and their plans are much cheaper than the comp and all but one of their plans is nationwide so no long distance or roaming charges wherever you call to.

I like cingular, decent plans great coverage and rollover mins

whatever you do, please please please! do not turn to tracfone wireless. they suck and they are very expensive.
