Or are there some things you need to make right?

Do you believe this to be a factor in determining your level of happiness?

As others have already said, there is always something to "make right" it seems. But after years of having to "make it right" one looses the motivation. How much responsibility does one person have in a relationship? Should it always fall to the same person to yield and prefer the other every time? Shouldn't it be give and take? Shouldn't both parties share the responsibility? And if it always falls to the same person to preserve the peace what does that say about the relationship?
After awhile the same predictable routine begins to wear on the level of happiness and one begins to wonder what the point is. Shouldn't marriage be a partnership? An equal proposition?
Of course it should. Does the fault always belong to the one? Of course not.
Peace can be a tentative proposition. Peace can be relative.

The answer to your second subquestion is YES, absolutely! However, it takes time to master the technique to hide the true feelings from the outside world and maintain the same level of happiness, while at the same time one is falling apart inside. In my case, I try to resolve issues right away and not let them sit for an extended period of time knowing they most probably will affect all other aspects of my life on a daily basis. Certain things just can't be fixed or resolved and by accepting them as such, one is able to move on. But in most cases, issues can be resolved with an active and sincere effort. At the same time, one must be optimistic and strongly believe that things could have been much worse. Needless to say, the resulting outcome will have lasting effects on our own psyche knowing that we've accomplished something we doubted could be done at first. As for things we need to make right, well, I doubt anyone can ever reach the bottom of that bucket - yet another neverending loop...

No, I do not have peace in all of my personal and family relationships. There are some issues that need to be resolved that are constantly hanging over my head. However, I don't really know what can be done to resolve the issues, and I don't think it's my responsibility to resolve the entire problem. It definitely affects my happiness.

unfortunately in life there is not the perfect relationship. there are always ups and downs. and when you feel that you have fixed the problem another one arises. my family has problems all the time and it is because of my sister who is unbearable to live with. when you feel you have addressed the problem with her, there is something else. as for the relationship with my partner, i love him yes but we do have alot of issues that come in. But no body can avoid these eruptions to our relationships. even in the relationship we have with ourselves there is disruption, that's why people get depression and do stupid things. the factor that is determining your level of happiness is the power of your mind. if you think you are sad, you will be sad. if you think you are happy you will be happy. the more you believe you are happy, the more genuinely happy person you will be. which will help exceptionally in stabilising unsettled relationships - even with yourself.

There was too much turmoil over the parents when they got old. I had to fight tooth and nail to keep my mother out of a home.
