You know how annoying they are.... I noticed they haven't been around lately in the yahoo games I play, but how long till we start seeing Want to Lose Weight Fast? questions. Do you think its likely BOTS will start answering questions?

it could be done now, it's not difficult to strip links from the main q&a page, then post a message to each one.
the only reason it hasn't been done, or at least done in any great number, is because it would require a fair amount of work to be efficient.
PLUS the id the bot is using would just get reported straight away, bots in chatrooms will last a hell of a lot longer because the process to report them is not so easily accessed by users who spot the bots.
oh, and chatroom bots are really easy to make.

it will take some time about 1 -2 years because they have different topics for each bot
