i'm only twelve (seventh grade), and @ school, when i look around, i see people wearing plain old, everyday t-shirts from Abercrombie, Hollister, Aeropostale, etc. I used to do that 2, but now, when i go to the mall, i feel attracted to all these other stores, like Wet Seal, bebe, The Limited, etc., and it makes me feel really weird, cuz everyone else doesn't look like they're shopping there, and i when i find something cute, instead of rushing to the checkout counter, i think, "but wat if i'm the only person @ skool wearing it?" and it makes me feel really self-conscious. i like Wet Seal because it sells really unique and cute clothes really, really inexpensively.(a gorgeous red halter dress cost $25! something like that in Abercrombie wud have cost $200!) COULD i wear clothes from those kinds of stores to school? is this normal?

It is fine. Just go with your instincts. Be yourself. Wear what you want to wear and like to wear. If you like it then you will be confidence and your confidence will allow you to wear those things with pride even if you are the only one wearing them.

Props to you for wanting to look different than the other kids. :) I don't see anything wrong with you shopping at different stores, just remember that you're twelve... Don't wear anything too revealing or inappropriate. There are plenty of items at Wet Seal, Bebe, Limited, and more that would work, just use a little judgement. Don't worry if you look different - at least you'll be unique!

Most definitely! I loved Bebe when I was younger (still do in fact). And I shop at both Wet Seal and Bebe now, and the clothes seem fine for a twelve year old.

no of course not..I wish I was more creative in my clothing in grade 7. I would not wear a halter top at school..but clothing is not just for school, clothing should represent the type of person you are..I wouldn't want to wear a halter top in winter...it would make me look too much like some party girl...but in summer yes. I just went to wetseal.com and their clothes are very creative...I loved it! Maybe your school is different from many schools, but you have to remember that people shouldn't juge you on what you wear. If you are creative...wear nice clothes....you might be a fashion designer one day! ;)

if i liked the way that something fit me and i looked good, looked sexy or it just made me feel good than ai definetly buy it...who cares if no one else is wearing wat u are? or who cares how much money u payed for it...as long as you like it why should it matter what every one else thinks! you will always have people that like your style and poeple that dont but as long as you like it who cares?!!!! You have to be different sometimes and you know what? maybe some other girls will ask you were you got something and wen you tell them they will go shop there too, you never no...so dont feel self conscious just take a little control(you will like it :).

Wait a bit...like next year or the year after...you'll for sure be ready. If you wear those types of clothes too soon you'll look like you're trying too hard to look older.

i say go for it! but keep in mind where you are going to wear it. that red dress might not be so great for school but it would be fun for something else. take a friend or your mom along for a second opinion. its great to wear what YOU like and as long as you feel comfortable wearing it you should.

i actually like tjmaxx. you will get clothier outfits or perhaps in simple terms rather beautiful outfits for an low priced cost, and in comparison to moist seal the clothing are made good and that they dont crumble in a pair washes.

Yes it is normal. I know adults that buy kids clothes; they are cheaper and the adult can fit into a kids large size, so whatever you do- its normal too.
