You could probably use any kind of blank DVDs as long as their capacity is large enough for what you want to burn. Also, make sure your computer has a DVD burner.

need to see what kind of dvds your burner accepts dvd-r-rw dvd+r-rw, dvd+-r+-rw and also dvd DL9.

Most common dvds are 4.5 gb

DL9 (dual layer) 8.5gb

you can use both but most common 4 gb dvd
