It happens in other categories, too, honey. People who don't know anything about a particular religion spread their prejudice, homophobes come to lesbian, gay and bisexual, people who hate NASCAR come to motor sports to insult those of us who do. It's not just a rap music thing.
And if I knew why people did it everywhere, I'd be a smarter person than I am!
I like rap, incidentally.
To the guy above me: Men who think they can tell women what they should or should not listen to are as sexist as any rapper ever was!
