i heard that if you dont dream this means that you will eventually go insane because the brain has no way to release the things that it deals with during the day. Anyone know if this is a proven fact or just myth?

Everyone dreams. You probably just do not remember. A person dreams several times a night at regular intervals up to 2 hours. At first the dreams are short, but lengthen as the night goes on. Most of our dreaming is done in the 2nd half of the night. As we nod off to sleep vivid images may appear that could be premonitions.
Next time before you fall asleep tell yourself you will remember your dream. Keep a writing pad and pen nearby to write down what you recall while fresh on your mind.

no, if you dont have dreams it means you do not have a good nights sleep. If you get in late at night and wake up early then you need to sleep in and realx on the weekends. During the school year i dont have dreams because i am loosing sleep, 6hr sleeping or less. So just relax and sleep in. Also you do have dreams but you dont remember seeing them when you wake up.

the reason you dont remeber your dreams is because when you are in the REM (or Rapid Eye Movement) stage of sleep, that is said to be where you dream, and in that stage you are more prone to being awaken easily...but if you are not awoken, or in more of a deeper level of REM stage, you most likely wont remember your dreams....in fact, a person only remembers about 20% of their dreams, if that...

ive never heard this myth before...so i definilty think its not true...insanity is caused by chemical imbalance in the brain along with tramatic experiences

well ive never heard of that before and i havent remembered my dreams for a long time...i think it just means that you have collected your thoughts and fears well enough that your mind can get into a mode of better rest and recooperation. I would appreciate it rather than fear it :-)
