It seems like forever! You will be able to feel it way before he will be able to. And, even then, when he puts his hand there, the baby might stop (mine always did and it drove me crazy). You should be able to feel the baby around the 5th month, and it's likely he won't be able to feel it until the 6th or 7th month. Of course, everyone is different...so you really never do know.
My husband used to always want to feel the baby...but now (I'm 37 weeks), my husband moves his hand AWAY from my belly because the kicks and hiccups keep him awake! LOL
Best of luck with your pregnancy!!! ♥

With my first son, me and husband could place our hands on my belly and feel him move at 14weeks(3 and a half months), from what I've heard that's way early, he was born during the estimated time, so I wasn't farther along. Now with my second son, I couldn't even feel flutters until about the 18th week(almost 4 and a half months) this is normal, and my husband couldn't feel him until two weeks later. It's all about when you start feeling flutters or "quickening" usually within a couple weeks of that, others will be able to feel your baby move. Check out babycenter.com for more information.
So it's different for everyone and every pregnancy. Some people don't know that what they're feeling is their baby moving. Lie down still and quiet, don't think about how it should feel, just wait and see if you start feeling something like gas.
By the way, my first son is five and hasn't stopped moving since he came out. I'm not due for with the second until Nov. and I hope he stays as laid back as he seems to be in the womb.

Quickening (feeling the baby move) happens on average at 20 weeks gestation. The fetal movements and heart beats can seen/heard much earlier in the doctors office on a sonogram or fetalscope.

about 5-9 months but in the beggining they aren't painful to you they just feel a bit funny and when you are close to having it you sometimes get them very painfully and you see see where it kicks! try putting a tv controller on your belly at like 6 months and it will bounce if the baby kicks it the right way!

it's usually around 26 weeks that someone else can feel the baby move by touching your stomach. it might happen a little sooner, but that's about the norm.
it's awesome when it happens... have fun and good luck

I started to feel flutter kicks around 5/6 months but it wasn't until the 7/8 month that you could really see/feel him kick around.
