Can you adjust it using a computer?

I want to know because in order to run a car off of just Ethanol you have to adjust the timing to fire the sparkplugs earlier, its easy to do if you have a distributor. http://journeytoforever.org/biofuel_library/ethanol_drane.html

If you believe the timing is off, it's not the timing you need to adjust. It's one of the sensors in the engine that needs to be replaced. most often the culprit is crank sensor. But with out knowing the details on your car it's really hard to tell.

You can't. Most newer vehicles timing is controlled only by the computer now.
