Hey I am not a big fan of Rob Zombie myself. I watched the movie House of 1000 Corpses. I thought it was dumb. I love horror movies but this was pushing it. It was a rip off of other movies. and pointless. Now he is redoing Halloween? How can he redo a classic Halloween is one of those movies that should not be touched. I mean don't get me wrong if there are some of you who like him more power to ya I was just wondering how many people like him and how many don't. Thanks

From what I understand this isnt going to be a direct remake the way The Omen was. While some elements of the origional are goingt o be touched upon, Rob Zombie has stated that he wants to make this his own and give you more of a background to Mike Myers. Kind of a prequel with elements of a remake. here is a Q&A with Rob Zombie about the plot.

QUESTION: Can you please clarify what you mean when you say you are "not making a sequel" and that your Halloween will be a "re-imagining" of the series? Isn't that just another word for "remake"? (from Cole in Chicago)
RZ: Well, sort of. I am basically making a prequel and a semi-remake of the first film all in one. So really in theory there will be more original content than remake content. That's why I don't like the word "remake."

QUESTION: Halloween is the most influential horror movie ever made and I for one am not happy about a remake. All of the remakes to hit theaters - from Texas Chainsaw to The Omen - were total crap. Why touch a classic like Halloween? Why would you even risk this? (from Mike in New York)
RZ: Like I said in Question 1, I wouldn't even go near this project if I didn't feel like a had a fresh, worthwhile approach to the material. Besides, I'm not touching one single frame of Carpenter's classic. That film will remain as it always has.

RZ touches on a lot of other key elements like the mask for Myers, gore level vs. content, and characters from previous films being used. Check it out

House of 1000 Corpses was pretty lame. But Devil's Rejects was much much better. I think he will do a good job at reimagining Halloween.

In regards to Halloween being a classic and it shouldn't be touched, they obviously didn't think that when they made Halloween 3 and all the others after it. Anything Rob Zombie will do is probably gonna be better than the recent Halloween movies.

seeing as how most current horror movies are based off of old horror movies from the 50s and 60s it seems odd to say that he was ripping off other movies...unfortunately that's just how it's done nowadays. he's a good musician, and an okay director that's getting better as time goes on. devil's rejects was tons better than house, and haloween will be better than both of them. and he's not remaking halloween, he's re-imagining it, with the possibility that michael myers may not even be in it, so it could still turn out okay, although i have my fingers veeeery crossed...

I like him, and while I'm no fan of horror movies myself, I do recommend that you read a little of his own writing as to why he is doing what he's doing. His writing is more of a tribute to the genre itself than an attempt to create the perfect horror movie. The entire point to House of a Thousand Corpses WAS to make something similar to the old fashioned horror movies.

Hi, i am a fan of his music, but not his movies. I agree with you, i don't think Halloween should be tampered with. I love horror movies, and the Halloween series are my favourite. Actually, i didn't like Season of the Witch.

Well i think its fine , i believe he will stay to the roots of halloween. It may not be like his other movies because he created the other ones. And plus he got the ok from John Carpenter so it's all good in my book.

I don't know what or who to like these day especially when it comes to movies. Directors have no good idea's so they got to remake stuff. Boo Hoo to the people who are making frickin films these days. If I can come across a new and fresh movie out in theatres than I will give them a whole **** load of fricken props. Speaking of Rob Zombie. Just because his name sounds so frickin cliche to the genre that he's get involved in, it doesn't mean he should fricken feel he can make something special. Rob Zombie should just go back to what he fricken started off with and that was what? Fricken making music? WTF!!!

I THINK HE'S VERY TALENTED AS A MUSICIAN AND AS A FILM
MAKER. I WILL JUST HAVE TO SEE HOW HE DOES ON THE
HALLOWEEN MOVIE.
