There was a time not too long ago that we may have had the military might to go in start ravaging and last for a while on our own steam...
Now we don't even have that... America owns about five percent of itself now... It has been selling itself out to European and Asian nations
There are companies in China that can single-handedly crash our economy by cashing in all the treasury bonds and certificates they have invested into us.
China owns us! Which is also why we don't have much to worry about in the way of Korea attacking with any nuclear technology. China will put a boot in their @$$ before it can do anything of significance in the way of threatening us they will protect their investment!
But quite a few countries have either the military diplomatic economic or territorial leverage to uproot and obliterate us. The world tolerates us because we haven't done anything to colossally tick them off yet....
We are falling out in a bad way and we need to start back tracking and halting are foolishness right now because we are on the edge of the point of no return... and from there folks it's all downhill
realistically at that point we'll have twenty-five thirty years tops until the American government ,social structure, and economy completely collapses into itself, unable to withstand the girth of it's own flaws and policies and debts...
STAND TOGETHER AND YOU MIGHT BE ABLE TO PREVENT IT... BUT MAKE HASTE THERE IS VERY LITTLE TIME!!

In reality America Can't do what it wants we are too dependent on foreign sources for just about everything; China makes our clothes and simple electronics and the Middle East controls the oil (currently) which pretty much inhibits our industrial capabilities and thus our ability to do anything we want but, with time and the growing hostility around the America we probably become isolationist and we'll be self-suffcient then the other countries will have to try and stop us...

America should do as it wants.
Forget the stoggy old Europe countries.
America doesn't need them.
Just go in anywhere and take it over.
It's okay. People don't mind.
But when plans fail, don't come with tail hanging between your legs to ask France to settle for you like how Viet Nam ended.
No, forget that last sentence!
Go ahead, forge ahead...you'll get the rest of the world to back America. Being arrogant, stubborn, short sighted, etc...makes everyone in the world grow to like you. Don't bother trying to understand the enemy...the enemy is just as bad today as the Native Americans were to the settlers.
Times change, but not really.

Many countries owe us money, and we owe many countries money. The easiest way for anyone to affect the United States is to cut off the goods we import. The United States is far to dependent on imports as it is. Yes we have military power, but I don't think we are so many leaps and bounds ahead as we were years ago. Say we go bomb everybody who doesn't like us and hurt our feelings. Where will we be then? We still will not have the imported cheese, and wine, and plastic toys from Taiwan. The world has got us by the big toe, and they know it.
We've lost our national morality. Anything we do now can be seen as hyprocritical by other nations, and even if we choose to do nothing we are still hypocritical to the beliefs we say we stand behind.

Very few nations have the military power to stop the US.
That doesn't make anything the US wants to do acceptable. Even if no other country can stop the US, there is such a thing as self-restraint.
And if we're claiming to be a nation of laws, then if nothing else the US should obey its own laws and its own Constitution.

you dont want to completely alienate your allies ... the US is headed into a major showdown with china in the coming years ... it is my belief that alot of the things you see in the news are maneuvers to get the US in a position to better deal with this looming future confrontation. We cant do what we want and get away with it forever ... not with China in the picture ... China will be fully nuclear capable to strike anywhere in the US with ballistic missles by next year ... also they are working feverishly on modernizing their military after they saw the ease at which the US rolled over saddam in the gulf war and the campaign to steal military secrets and designs has reached incredible levels ... im sure youve heard about all the chinese spys being caught lately trying to ship everything from the new f22 engines to complete aircraft to guidance systems control chips to complete cruise missles capable of being armed with nuclear warheads .... theyre after us .... and their nuclear capable submarine fleet will be completed by 2008 ... this is the prediction. Lets hope that the US is smart enough to be careful what it is doing and to be prepared for this situation within the next few years ... especially when China decides to annex taiwan which the US is sworn to protect ... i see it coming ... we are not invincible ... in fact our military capability to handle a major war has drastically decreased since the end of the cold war ... especially in the event of having a major 2-front war ... so bottom line is ... dont get too cocky or someone may wind up deciding the world may be better off without the US.

Seems to me America is doing xactly what it wants, when it wants!Thats o.k.,but you do realise good things will always come to an end.World domination only lasts for so long, even less so i imagine in todays advances in technology.
"you" don,t humour the UN,its obviously got its own agenda(possibly wishful thinking)they have tried to subverse the middle east in past times,so your not the 1st to go there-old habits die hard i suppose. They at least did it for religious beliefs(founded in ignorance)not for black gold(based on greed/need).
Hey,your still a babby,who doesn,t know any better....njoy,nobody else is!!

This question was asked in Germany during the 1930's. . .and in France during the reign of Napoleon. . .and in England before that...etc. The US should lead the world by example, not by conquest.
