A person with a good work ethic can definitly be successful in life. Getting a degree is not for everyone. There are also a lot of people with degrees who were good students but never really make it as a worker. Having a degree does not insure that you will make it.

Actually, I do believe a person can make their way through life without a college degree. With hard work and dedication, a person can succeed. I know two people in my life who are doing this and they are doing fine.

Hell, I've made it thus far and I have just a HS Diploma. I've even gotten jobs before where I was supposed to have a Bachelor's degree but was hired anyway off my experience and my word to do a good job. My dad didn't finish college and he is a successful Home Improvement business owner, County Court Mediator, Home Inspector, Locksmith and Used Car salesman. He keeps a lot hustles going, he's never without money. You're always supposed to know how to do more than one thing anyway.

Sure. But it depends on your definition of "make it". A degree definitely helps (assuming you are talking college degree - a high school degree is definitely important).
And to compare people to Bill Gates is like saying that you can win the lottery. Not likely.

I know a person can make it in life without a degree. Sometimes it's just harder because you often have less opportunities.

I dont have one, Semi-retired at 39.
However, I self studied my butt off.
College will teach you a certain disipline that is hard to teach yourself.
I know you can make it with out one. You just have to be prepared for certain disadvantages.
Based on your age. I would at least take a few classes if you can.

sure you can make it in life without a degree, millions do but it is easier to have one and you may have to be more dynamic in getting to where you want to be.

It depends on your definition of "make it in life" I suppose. I have no degree, and I'm still alive..... so I'm "making it" I guess.
