I wouldn't say they have made me personally feel less safe
a) because I live in the country and
b) because I hardly ever fly
However, I can see that for people who live in big cities (London, Birmingham etc.) they would feel less safe, especially if they fly a lot. For the people like me though, even though ot doesn't really effect me, it does affect me, because it brings it closer to home. Before all the terorrism, although horrible, has been hard to get your head around, because its always been so far away. The 7 7 bombings was the first real shocker for the british, because I think nearly everyone knows someone who lives in London or has relatives there. My own uncle uses the train that was hit every day for work, but just that one day, he had forgotton his briefcase, went home for it, and caught the next train. I thank God. Todays events, given the scale, are hugely shocking, and I don't think anybody can possibly shrug it off.

The events of the last year or so in general have.
The trouble is that I am losing faith in our government regarding lying, propoganda etc - things like Bush knowing about 9/11 before and the fact the only people who flew in US the day after was Bin Ladens family. The people in Guatanamo Bay who were innocent, Mendes who died for nothing and no charges made.
There are a lot of conspiracy theories thrown in too.
I dont know who to believe, are we really in danger any more than when the IRA was out and about? Or the Soviets were gonna nuke us? I, and maybe you did too, grew up thinking a nuclear bunker was an acceptable addition to the house!
Then this Israel thing killing innocents.
Maybe our time is up and its WW3?
We are fronted by men who are increasingly looking like the bad guys and playing into the terrorists hands.
Who knows the truth? Those who wont tell us it, thats who.

No, it shows me how others have scant regard for their lives. The lives they may take could be determined as gods will, but my life is already predetermined. It doesn't matter what they do, my life is forefeit anyway. I do however understand what you are asking, and I am sure that many people will think twice about flying or become even more suspicious of that Asian looking man who lives across the road. The world is definitely becoming a less safe place to live in and unholy alliances may lead us all down the path of destruction..........................

Nah this is planet earth, and death and danger is always just round the corner, when we get on top of one we just find another. We all live and get on with it, a perfectly healthy 20 year old can just drop down dead because of a random unstopable and unnoticable blood clot in the lung. It's the way we live. I feel that I just need to get on with it, when my time is up my time is up. Before then I want to have as much fun as I can. Look on the bright side... after events like today plane tickets will be much cheaper. Lets go on holiday baby!

No. The risk is always there. You can't eliminate it, and you can't afford to let it control your life. What happened today was a reminder of something that we are supposed to know by now.
The world has never been perfect, but in modern times we are more informed about the imperfections than before.
To learn to live with it and to "roll with the punches" is the only way to handle it. And that's what we should thrive to.

I really don't know who to believe. Do i feel less safe. No not really, but show me the proof and not just say what the police may have found at these peoples houses. Just like WMD's in IRAQ.

In all honesty, yes. It felt like one of those spy TV shows today, where they fake press conferences and reporters at crime scenes, except it was real. We are in a very strange place when mothers need to taste their babies milk in case it is a bomb.
I will still fly and I do still get on the underground. Yet, I will do so whilst looking at my fellow passengers wondering if I am about to take part in a real life disaster movie.

No... Stuff like this and even worse happens every day that the public doesn't even know about. So when the media gets a hold of something and play it all day i'm not really too concerned because there's much more going on...

Airport security is an illusion, anybody can kill anybody with their bare hands, it just takes longer if you wanna kill any number of people at any one time lol. It's just angered me that this stuff is still going on, instead of proving a point, it's just killing civilians and stuff, and making them even more despised by the rest of the world. Hate gives way to new hate, so it's just frustrating me, rather than making me feel any more at risk.
