The last sentence it correct. If you have a long quote that is more than five lines long you use a "block quote" This is when you finish you line and then hit enter and then move over 10 spaces to add your quote. For instance:

qqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqq
Start block quote here
continue until the quote is
finished.

Always remember never use back to back quotes.

Usual method if you are using it as a reference is to put the Author, then the year,,, then the passage in quotation marks.. and you do use the internal grammar... example..

this was also mentioned in (Gibbs, 2003) " The man came to the shop and John said "Where is my hat"."

Write all of it in itallics and then John said, "Where is my hat?" and then write the page # in parentheses beside it.

Use quotes and then site it in parenthesis - "Where's my hat." (book, page 12).
