What are your intentions with my daughter?

I
This really doesn't answer your question but it will give you an idea of what to talk to a girls parents about. I'm a mom so here goes. Rules of the house. When you went out with a boy you brought him home sometime before the date for us to meet. That way, there was for the most part, no awkwardness for the boy on the night he picked up my daughter for their date. We'd usually have a movie night or something on the go so he didn't feel pressured. We would all then be able to talk and get to know each other, ie: we'd get to ask about his family life, what he was interested in, about school, if he was into sports etc. My daughter respected us enough to realize that when we vetoed her going out with someone it was because he didn't have the same values that she was brought up with. It's amazing how a night like this lets you find out about someone. We always made it a relaxing evening so nobody felt they had to put on a "show" for mom and dad. It got to the point where all her friends knew about the "Rule" so most boys asked to come to the house to watch a movie etc. first before they asked her out. That also helped her to know that the boy was really interested in her, after all he came to meet the parents.

It's not the mom you should be worried about, it's the father. They want to know what goals you have, what you're interested, what your career goals are. I know those questions are sort of, out there, but the want to see that you at least have something going for you. More general questions like how you guys met, stuff about you personally might come up too.

Good luck

Where do you work? Do you plan to stay there long?

How long have you know (girlfriend's name here)?

Are you in school?
What is your major?

Do you live with your family?

She basically wants to know if you make money, do have a career or a job, are you in school, do you have a future plan, and do you have your own place. She really wants to know that you can stand on your own, you know not mooching off mom and dad...that kind of thing (but I don't know your age).
