It is a SACRED DUTY for Muslims to kill unbelievers.

Muslims have a SACRED DUTY to rid the world of fitnah. Sayyid Qutb, an Islamic scholar, writes that the world would be a utopia under Islamic theocracy. Islam is a political as well as a religious system.

Qur'an Surah Al-Anfãl 8:39
So fight them (unbelievers) until there is no more fitnah (disbelief or worship of any god but Allah) and all submit to the religion of Allah alone (in the whole world) ... And fight with them until there is no more fitnah and religion should be only for Allah ....

Allah commands deeds of terror by the believers (Muslims) against the unbelievers as the means of creating the emotion of terror in their hearts. The only reason needed for action is that "they resisted Allah and His Messenger". Such an approach to "conflict management" is nothing to be ashamed about according to Islamic understanding, but it is a basis for pride. According to Islam, it is one reason for the superiority of Muhammad over all other prophets.

Qur'an Surah Al-Anfãl (8):12-13
Recall that your Lord inspired the angels: "I am with you; so support those who believed. I will throw terror into the hearts of those who disbelieved. You may strike them above the necks, and you may strike even every finger. This is what they have justly incurred by fighting Allah and His messenger. For those who fight against Allah and His messenger, Allah's retribution is severe. (Khalifa trans.)

Non-Muslims should try to understand that it is the Muslim's SACRED DUTY to fight in the jihad fee sybil Allah.

Mumim (true Muslims) believe in Allah and His Messenger (Muhammad), and without doubt they strive in the cause of Allah (jihad fee Sybil Allah) with their wealth and their lives. Those! They are the sincere.

So remember, all you have to do is convert to Islam... oh yah, you can pay jizyah (protection $) according to some sources the rate would be 25% of your income.

I think it is a very ignorant and narrow minded comment within your question. Alot of people realise that not all muslims are like that otherwise ALL muslims would be doing this and they are not! It is not part of the muslim faith to go out killing people. Islam teaches to cause no harm to oneslf or to others and only use reasonable force in order to defend yourself and that's it! People who call themselves muslims but still kill are not true muslims only a handful of fundamentalists carry out these acts and this certainly does not portray or represent the true nature of Islam and muslims as we are led to believe via the media. The terrorists who are from the Islamic faith are taking revenge on the US and UK government in response to the war on Iraq and Afganistan and that Israel is receiving weapons from the US and Israel are using the weapons against other countries to kill people. In any case war and violence is wrong it advances nothing and achieves nothing and the outcome is pain and grief, i find it hard to believe that we are living in a supposedly democratic world!

Doesn't it say in the Qu'ran that they have permission to kill any nonbeliever, or something? Don't mean to stir anything by this, I think my brother mentioned it once, I don't know if it's true or not. But yeah, Muslims, christians, any religious group will by law of averages have extremist fanatics. It's hard not to stereotype because there are so many muslims doing it, but I have a few muslim acquaintances who are nothing but good conversation, so it reminds me not to make a generalisation.
