You must look to the whole chart to see what type of people you are attracted to not just your own sun sign and the other person's sun sign.
What aspects do your Sun, Moon and Ascendant make?
The 1st house is you, your personality and appearance..
The 5th house rules love affairs.
The 7th house rules partnerships.
The 8th house rules sexuality.
What planets are in the above houses and what aspects do they make? What signs are those planets in? What sign is on the cusp of those houses? What elements (fire, earth, air & water) and qualities (cardinal, fixed & mutuable) are involved?
For a female's chart you can look to the Sun and Mars and their aspects for what types of males they are attracted to.
For a male's chart you and look to the Moon and Venus and their aspects for what types of females they are attracted to.

Any sign can be with any other sign. It all depends on your whole chart, based on your DATE, PLACE, EXACT TIME of birth, not just your Sun signs.
Your whole chart then is then compared to the other person's whole chart using a technique called Synastry.
The aspects between each other's planets and points must be looked at and interpreted. The planets in each others houses must be looked at and interpreted, both ways. Affinities must be looked for. It's not simple to a layperson, but it is to people who are educated in Astrology terminology.
Sun sign horoscopes are absolutely inaccurate to determine compatibility between two people.

The best is Virgo as far as passion is concerned..the two together make the hottest combo of the zodiac in bed...Any astrologer will tell you that. That does not mean it is the best match out of bed, for Virgo and Scorpio can butt heads often. And it depends on whether you are talking HIGH or LOW sides of the signs. But overall, pick a Virgo if you want the passion to fly for years and years....Virgos only get better with age, Scorpios peak at about 45-50, then start cooling off. The Virgo can keep them going longer than any other sign. Good luck

Quite apart from the fact that Astrology is a load of tripe based on a geocentric concept proved incorrect centuries ago (F'rinstance, I am ostensibly a Pisces on the basis that the Sun was in the constellation of Pisces on my Natal day (9th March Supposedly my entire life and persona is governed by a 'water sign' - except the sun isn't in Pisces on the 9th March, it is in Ares! Astrology takes not note of what is actually going on in the sky) Isn't Astrology profoundly unethical? If I were to say that I would never date a Pakistani because they are careless and inattentive, or I would never employ an Irishman because they are temperamental and unreliable, I would quite rightly be accused of racism. However, it is okay to condemn and stereotype people because of the accident of their date of birth????

I think its Cancer. Scorpio is a very powerful sign, and not everyone will tolerate Scorpio. Cancerians tend to be flexible and forgiving, adjusting to Scorpio's character. Moreover, Scorpios love puzzles and Cancers are extremely secretive.
