I have a method:
1) Write songs and compose music
2) Record CD
3) Release best song on album as a single
4) Make a music video
5) Schedule live concerts and tours
6) Repeat process as necessary

Okay, well first of all, You have to actually know how to rock. Your clothes should be cool, but it's not all about that. Don't be a poser and pretend you know what you're doing. Please make sure you are an awesome rocker and have become very skilled at whatever instrument you are playing (or your voice). That's all I got. Good luck.
p.s. Corie person, i completely disagree about the whole "You have to be hott" part. Looks have nothing to do with music. That's all I have to say.

That's an easy one...DIE! (All the greats are dead: Jim Morrison, Jerry Garcia, Jimi Hendrix, Steveie Ray Vaughan, Janis Joplin, John Lennon, Elvis etc) and they are all making more money now than they did when they were alive.

first you have to be able to sing
second you have to have a band that makes u sound good
third you have to be hott
