why is it some people walk around with a tooth pick hanging from their mouths?

is it to stop them grinding their teeth or to help them to stop smoking?
if you do this or know anybody who does then i'd like to know the reason

theres a man i see around town who does this, but he's not very friendly and i dont feel it would be appropriete to just go up and say "hi! why do you do that?"!

I do it sometimes after leaving a restaurant. I don't really know why I do it. I don't have an oral fixation or smoke or grind my teeth. I just let it chill in my mouth for a good 5 to 10 minutes until it gets soggy - and I spit it out. And that's it. No real reason. Never really thought about it this much before - weird!

Men do this alot...They thing walking down the street with a tooth pick hanging out of their mouths is so cool...It makes then look like a pig with a small stick in their mouths...Not cool...

SOme people do it out of habit. THey may chew on the end of a toothpick instead of having that cigarette. The reasons vary from person to person
