What kind of camcorder do I need to connect to my computer?

I want to get a better framerate than a webcam will offer but I don't want to spend a lot on a camcorder... which kind should I get?

Any digital camcorder can be attached with no real problem. One that still uses tapes will need a converter such as a dazzle to allow the connection. A quality webcam will be cheaper.
