You do get 1pt per reception, but I am torn on who I should take. All the good backs will might be gone by then. I am thinking of looking at the top WR's

I was in the exact situation you were in. I has 12th pick in a 12 team league. I set mine to autodraft because Im not in a keeper league.
I set my player rankings like this:
Position :
1 P. Manning QB
2 T. Brady QB
3 M. Harrison WR
4 L. Johnson RB
5 S. Alexander RB
6 T. Holt WR
7 R. Wayne WR
8 L. Tomlinson RB
9 C. Johnson WR
10 C. Williams RB

Here is my drafted roster:
1. (1) P. Manning QB
2. (16) M. Harrison WR
3. (17) T. Holt WR
4. (32) T. Gonzalez TE
5. (33) Carolina DEF
6. (48) N. Rackers K
7. (49) T. Houshmandzadeh WR
8. (64) T. Jones RB
9. (65) J. Jones RB
10. (80) B. Roethlisberger QB
11. (81) Tampa Bay DEF
12. (96) J. Kasay K
13. (97) K. Jones RB
14. (112) Ma. Jones WR
15. (113) K. Robinson WR
16. (128) J. Stevens TE
17. (129) D. Bledsoe QB
As you can see I came out solid as far as my QBs and WRs. Everyone in my league snatched up the RBs pretty fast so i had to shop for a couple of better than average backs since i didnt have a #1 stud back. People see my roster and think my running game will suffer but i know i will have some bargaining power with someone else who is hurting for a quality WR or backup QB. Dont be like everyone else and rank Larry Johnson higher than LT or Shaun Alexander. I dont see him doing what he did in the latter half of last season for the WHOLE season this year. And dont be to eager to jump all over TO. He is such a loose cannon that you never know how things will go with him in Dallas answering to Bill Parcells. I have already dropped T.Jones and J. Jones and started K.Jones. I will mostly likely trade Holt or Ben to another league manager who is loaded on RBs. Well hope this helps, you dont have to do what i did but just do your homework and go with your gut. GL.

Predicting who will be there for you at number 12 is nearly impossible, but in a keeper league where you can keep a player throughout the career Bush might not be a bad take right there. Might not pay off big in the short run, but in the long run you might have the number one fantasy player year in year out. Just a thought.

it depends if the top RB are gone or not. I still recommend going RB-RB, because think of what will be left when you pick again at 36-37.

You may be able to land 2 of the following at 12-13:

Rudi Johnson, Ronnie Brown, Cadillac Williams, Lamont Jordan.

If they're there, grab them. If onnly one is there, you can still use the 13 pick on Westbrook or McGahee, or look to the top WR (Chad, Owens, et al).

But you must get at least 1 RB, it's imperative. Try to get 2 though.

at 12th spot your best option would probally be a running back if you want a wr bad though you might and a big might, be able to get Steve Smith if not you can get someone like Chad Johnson

Always go for the best running back available. Some clown will probably screw up and pick some one 5 or 6 rounds to early.
