I've lived with both cats and a potbellied pig. It can depend on how well you care for your animal, to be honest. Pigs will roll in dirt and mud to cool off and keep bugs away. Cats cover themselves in spit and shed frequently. If you bathe your pig regularly, it will be clean. If you groom your cat often, it will be clean.
Both can pretty easily be trained to use particular areas for bathroom purposes. Cats and pigs can both use litterboxes indoors. Outdoors, cats are more likely to poo all over the yard, while a pig will pick a spot and stay with it.
Cats cough up hairballs. Pigs can slobber and foam. Both can track dirt through the house and puke on your rug. So which is cleaner? I'd say that they're both about the same. Fairly clean for critters. (I will say that cats, in my experience, leave more of an odor in the house than a clean pet pig does. Maybe it's the litterbox.)

belive it or not a pig is actually cleaner. this was an interesting fact for me too when i first discovered it on a trip to a local farm. Pigs do not sweat, so they wallow in mud to cool their bodies. The mud also protects a pig from insect bites and from sunburn. Because they roll in mud, pigs often look mucky and people think that they are dirty animals. But pigs are clean animals! They will have a place which they use as a toilet which is well away from the places where they eat or drink. they also clean them selves off after rolling in the mud just as if we would take a shower if we rolled in the mud. a cat yes is clean but has fur that can get much dirtier that a pigs skin they also have habbits of sitting in their litter boxes which isnt sanitary. if you cat is an out door cat this is a way that your cat will be much dirtier than a pig because there are many things out side to get your cat dirty as well as there are some ways for a cat to get dirty inside and cats cant also reach everywhere on their bodie with their tounge to clean themselves. also cats wont bathe themselves like pigs will because cats do not like to go into water like pigs will. i hope ive helped you a little on this!!!

A Pig.
They are considered to be very clean. Only reason they lie in the mud is because they don't sweat and this is how they keep themselves cool. They also only go to the bathroom in one spot..this is why Many people have Pot Bellied pigs as house pets. They are very smart and can be easily house trained like a dog.
Cats choke up hair balls, get fleas, shed, and drag dead things into the house. You also have to clean up a litter box..with a pig..you can train them to go outside.

PIGS
Pigs are very intelligent. This is usually a positive trait, and in fact pot bellied pigs are quite trainable, much the same as a dog (i.e. can be house trained, leash trained, and will learn a few tricks). However, their intelligence can make them a bit of a handful, too. They are curious and playful, but also head-strong and sensitive. Without appropriate stimulation, they will become easily bored, and possibly destructive.
Pigs are also unrelenting in their quest for food - and can learn to open the fridge, cupboards, pantry - wherever food may be lurking.
Pigs can be territorial and have a drive to be dominant ("top pig"). Unless shown that the humans in the household are number one, pigs can exhibit a form of aggression known as dominance aggression (also seen in dogs). Pigs need to be taught to respect their owners, but setting rules and boundaries, teaching the word "no" and using gentle but firm discipline. Pigs respond well to positive reinforcement (e.g. using praise and treats when the pig is doing something desirable), and do not do well at all with physical punishment. From day one, the owner should be setting the rules and enforcing them. Consistent rules, praise for good behavior, and correction/redirection with lots of repetition and patience will help produce a well mannered pig with a good relationship with its family.
On a more basic level, a pig will live an average of 12 -18 years, estimates range up to more than 20 years. Although often called miniature pot bellied pigs, the term miniature is relative - they are smaller than most pigs kept for food production, but they still usually weigh 125 pounds or more when fully grown. Responsibility for their care is not to be taken lightly, with respect to time or finances. Pigs should be obtained form conscientious, reputable breeders, and will need a good quality pig food, regular vaccinations, hoof and tusk trims, and will also need to be spayed or neutered. Regular access to the outdoors for exercise is a necessity as well. Pigs are social animals so needs lots of attention and interaction, and if feasible, owners should consider keeping more than one pig. Of course, as with any other exotic pet - an owner needs to check local regulations to make sure pot bellied pig ownership is permissible.
For people with appropriate expectations, a pot bellied pig will make a rewarding, entertaining, much-loved
CAT
Ownership needs:
*Cat litter box, litter and litter scoop
*Food dish
*Water dish or dispenser
*Scratching post
*Cat food
*Cat toys
*Cat brush
*Catnip(optional)
Pigs are easier to take care of, well as long as I know

Pigs are cleaner. The whole filthy/rolling in mud bit is just a sterotype.

Actually, that is not true. Pigs are very clean. They sleep in mud (if it's around) to cool off since they have no sweat glands. They make excellent pets.

Pigs don't shed fur, throw up on the carpet or lick their bottoms. I'd go with the pig.
