Is there anybody else out there that feels like their Social Phobia has caused them to disapear off the face of the earth?

Yes. Sometimes I marvel at how there are so many people on Earth and I have problems feeling comfortable or trusting even 1 or 2 of them. There have been times for me when I knew if I died in my home that it might be a week before anyone would finally come check on me. Medicine has helped mask my feelings but it doesn't stop the sick games people play with each other in all settings, homes, churches, clubs, parties. Study Abraham Maslow's Heirarchy of Needs and Self-Actualizing people. One of the traits of self-actualizing people is that they isolate from society.

Yes, been living with that for years. I've found that maybe I'm just not a social person. Or maybe the crap that goes along with being social is not worth the good things. I don't have all the answers, but if you find yourself in the same situation, don't feel as if you "have" to be social. Maybe your just not that kind of person. Do your best to be a kind and loving person but theres no where that says you have to be social to do that.

Sort of. I mean, I daydream a lot, and sometimes I don't listen to what people say and they get mad at me. I'm a shy person, but I try my best not to be, so I've never disappeared, but I've been so close to it sometimes. But don't worry, I'm sure your not alone.

I am getting out more these days, but I used to feel like I was suffocating when I got to crowded bars or sporting games. I dunno how I got over it, but I am glad I did.
