Yes, at the beginning of the Creation. After Adam and Eve sinned almost the next recorded event was the murder of a brother by a brother and we have had war ever since.

Interestingly, 4 Nephi 1, in the Book of Mormon, tells of a 200-year span of peace and tranquility occurring on the American continent.

The visit of Jesus Christ to the peoples of ancient America prompted this peace, but in 201 A.D., wars and contention started all over again.

I think there has always been war at some point or another. I think the problem has been that as humans "advanced" technologically speaking our wars have gotten more and more violent. It is one thing for one clan to fight another over hunting territory or maybe farmland or even a family dispute. When you up things to large federal governments now the wars get vicious because now you have issues like religion.

To complement Maggie's answer, before we evolved into modern humans, there wasn't a concept of war; fighting was just fighting, usually for resources rather than ideology. You have to go back about twenty million years or so, before modern primates evolved, before you can say that war in fact did not occur -- you could claim that clan fighting between troops of primates and proto-humans could be considered war, whereas other conflicts between groups of a species are simply natural territoriality.

There is a lot of war on our planet isn't there? How ever your question is a little exaggerated; as there were a couple times when there was no war. Your other answerers named a few already, so i won't waste my time naming them. Who knows, maybe there will be a time in the future when there will be no wars at all, maybe there won't. Only the future can tell us.........

There probably wasn't war back before civilization.

As soon as the need for land and materials showed up, war did as well. Religion of course didn't help much.
