Why are women who want the better things in life labeled as gold diggers when in the past, and somewhat still today, the only way a woman could have a comfortable life was to marry someone who could give her these things? Very few women were given the opportunity to go to medical school or own a business. But nowadays, many women do and the men; pimps, mama's boys, and so called "players" live off of women but they are not scorned the same way that women are and are often looked up to and praised by other men. Do you think this double standard is fair?

I don't think there is a double standard really. The only double standard between the genders that I still see today is the fact that this same male dominated society unfairly labels women who like to go out and date different guys(and sometimes have sex with them) as sluts, yet if a man went and did the same damn thing he's just doing what any man does regardless of the fact that nobody bothers to label them as man sluts(or man whores).

Back to the gold digger question, women who want the finer things in life and actually work their damn butts off to get it are NOT gold-diggers. The only time a woman would be a gold-digger is if all she does is rely on her man and his wealth to get her those finer things in life.

A gold digger is not someone who simply wants the finer things in life. A gold digger is someone too lazy to try and do it for themselves. They take it from somebody that did all the work already. Having said this, It is not just the gold digger's fault. It is the fault of the 85 year old willing to believe that the hot 18 year old likes him just for him. In today's day and age a woman is just as capable as a man of making her own fortune. When she marries someone just because they are wealthy, she diminishes all of women kind. Same can be said of men that do this.

I don't respect people that use other people to get what they want. Not when the other person is only looking to be loved. Rich or poor it is love most of us desire. I do feel for the people falling for the gold diggers. It is sad. Humans should not use each other in this way.

No; I married a gold digger. He married me ('cause he thought that's how he would get his trust fund), I supported him, then as soon as he got his trust fund, he didn't need me any more. Everyone I know views him as a useless hunk of meat, especially now that he's spent his ENTIRE trust fund.

Oh, and they all think he's a gold digger.

Not fair, but probably men are getting their revenge. However, there are still a lot of good men left in the world. I've met them.

Ask my ex-wife. She is a gold-digging, bank account robbing, nasty smelling, crazy insane skank of a ho.

Gawd I hate her.
