Bedbug infestations on rise across U.S. - Yahoo! News
This article explains that they are making a comeback. Absent from the U.S. for so long that some thought they were a myth, bedbugs are back. Entomologists and pest control professionals are reporting a dramatic increase in infestations throughout the country, and no one knows exactly why.

They are real bugs that live in mattress! They are kinda like dust mites. I haven't actually seen em' because people say that they are really small. Try to wash you bed sheet at least once every week in hot water! You can also get mattress covers to go over your mattress to if they creep you out really badly. I have a cover on my bed. If your mattress is really old, you should try to get a new one or at least get a cover for it.
Oh, and the same thing goes for you pillows! Change your pillows about every 3 months because the bed mites will make your hair start falling out! I've seen it happen to a girl for real!

Bedbugs are small nocturnal insects of the family Cimicidae that live by hematophagy, feeding on the blood of humans and other warm-blooded hosts.
The common bedbug (Cimex lectularius) is the best adapted to human environments. It is found in temperate climates throughout the world and has been known since ancient times.

No, bed bugs are real. They are these little red bugs (their red because they suck your blood while you sleep) that hide in your mattress. Always use a protective cover on your mattress to eliminate any kind of liquid (saliva, body fluids of any kind), they like it to be dirty.
