Yes - it is coming, but it has been coming for a long time.
There are lots of signs all around us, which would seem to indicate the end of the world. I do believe we are in the "End Times" now, there are so many terrible things going on , and we are destroying the earth, especially with global warning.
However, I believe it is true what the Bible says about this, that athough there will be signs, we will not know the exact hour or day.
I can't find the exact verse I am looking for, but I will look it up and add it later if I can find it - I think it must be in Revelations.

Hope this helps:>)

Remember this:
Daniel 12:1
[ The End Times ] "At that time Michael, the great prince who protects your people, will arise. There will be a time of distress such as has not happened from the beginning of nations until then. But at that time your people—everyone whose name is found written in the book—will be delivered.
Daniel 12:1-3 (in Context) Daniel 12 (Whole Chapter)

There are some reference in the Bible that indicates that some things that are currently happening will become more and more intense when the time of the end of the world is close. But I think It´s some time ahead...No reason to put a cartoon sign in front of yourself and get out the streets screaming 'The end of the world is coming!' Why not to work on doing a much better world with what we have here, and now?

Not soon - sometime after the next 100 million years or so the sun will expand and cook the earth. That will be the end of the world.

In a few Billion years the biosphere of Earth will become extinct as the sun leaves main sequence and parbroils the surface, then deep freezes it as it becomes less luminous.

The spin of the earth will eventually slow down to the point that the magnetic fields generated now will no longer keep out lethal radiation from cosmic sources.

The amount of CO2 in the atmosphere will eventually be depleted and locked up deep beneath the surface in the form of future fossils and fossil fuels and plant life will no longer be viable, killing the fauna as well.

Also this does not count mega accidents like extinction creating asteroid impacts.

Pretty much the party winds down within 2 billion more years, but nothing you have to worry about.

as far as the planet is concerned we know that the sun is middle aged so many more millions of years of light and heat to sustain life on this blue planet. We had a near miss a couple of years ago with an asteroid. So in planetary terms, who knows when something will hit.
The world - that term usually refers to the human existance, the world as we know it is currently on the brink of a world war. The middle east is extremely flammable just now . If the situation is exacerbated the world as we know it and depend on may be destroyed. Disease, food shortages, wars are all on the increase. Can the west sustain its greedy lifestyle while the developing countries and islamic countries vie for their slice of the pie? I doubt it. I believe we are on the brink. Bush is a clever president in touch with a very religious electorate. Having his finger on the button supported by many who believe in armageddon as the second coming of christ may push us in that direction especially as they believe megiddio is the place where it will all kick off. Nothin like being a war president, even better to be the armageddon president lol!

It could happen any moment, but it probably won't.
If you mean, is God coming to judge us then No, that's just a load of superstitious nonsense. It should be in the religious section anyway.
As you are in the science section you cannot mean that, so I assume that you must be referring to scientific predictions.

There could be a catastrophic event at any time... hit by comet, massive volcano exploding... or the earth could become uninhabitable by warming up too much, losing its water, losing its atmosphere.

The longest the earth can last is about 5m years. Then the sun will expand and swallow it up.

Depends how you define your world.
If you mean planet earth then yes it's on it's way to melt down but unless you're going to be put on ice when you die, to be resurrected in a few million years, I don't think you need to worry.
If your world revolves around Big Brother then the end of the world is nigh!

Yes, the end of the world is coming!! it is emminet.
like death and taxes!
though the time and date remaind uncertain, it is clear that this are the signs of the end! wether you believe it or not. Just like when you see clouds in the sky and the clouds are dark with rain. you may sincerely not believe that indeed will rain but nature does not require you to believe it in order to proceed as it always has. Therefore you may be sincerly wrong in your assumptions. wotever
